Dan is a natural for the role of president of Waypoint."

IRVINE, California — Dan Dougherty, executive vice president, sales for Waypoint, has been named president of the leading foodservice and commercial sales and marketing agency effective July 1, 2020. Dougherty steps into the role as Waypoint President Chuck Mascari, Jr. departs to focus on his family brewery business.

“Chuck played an instrumental role in the formation and growth of Waypoint, leading with a very intentional focus on better serving clients and customers across channels in the U.S. and Canada,” said Advantage Solutions CFO and COO Brian Stevens. “He shaped Waypoint’s ‘Winning as One’ culture with a ‘people first’ commitment steeped in transparency and empowerment. We’re happy for Chuck, who will be pursuing his personal passion, and excited for Dan to continue to build on the momentum at Waypoint.”

“I’m so proud of the impact Waypoint associates have had, and continue to make, on the foodservice industry and the work they’ve done building business for our clients and customers, most recently helping them navigate the very challenging fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mascari said. “I’m grateful to leave Waypoint under the guidance of an extraordinary leader like Dan Dougherty. Since his appointment as executive vice president, sales last year, Dan has led with decisiveness, integrity and strength. His leadership has been second to none.”

Dougherty’s history in the foodservice industry precedes the various senior leadership roles he has held at Waypoint. Dougherty owned and operated Dougherty Brokerage, an Omaha, Nebraska-based regional sales agency, one of nine founding agencies forming Waypoint in 2012.

“Dan is a natural for the role of president at Waypoint,” Stevens noted. “His commitment to the continued success of the agency is matched by his passion and dedication to the people who make up Waypoint and the clients they serve. I have no doubt Dan will lead Waypoint to its highest potential.”

“I’m excited and honored to lead Waypoint into its next successful chapters,” Dougherty said. “Our talented team is committed to serving our foodservice and commercial clients with excellence. We pride ourselves on providing innovative solutions to our operator and distributor customers on behalf of our manufacturer clients. And we’ll continue our focus on finding and building on new opportunities on their behalf, every day.”
