Working at Advantage

ROGERS, ARK. — Advantage Solutions associates from Walmart Retailtainment in Rogers, Ark., recently came together to volunteer with the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, helping to provide 12,900 meals to those in need.

The volunteer event was the latest effort in Advantage’s 11-year partnership with Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States. Advantage aims to provide $50,000 in donations this year to Feeding America, the equivalent of 500,000 meals.

Advantage volunteers in Arkansas spent the day stocking shelves at Feed Rogers, a free client-choice pantry that allows guests to select their own food, rather than receiving a prepacked or standard bag of groceries. They also packed boxes of food for local schools, repacked bulk food for distribution and worked in the Feed Rogers garden.

“I truly appreciate the efforts of our team here in Rogers to make our service time at the Northwest Arkansas Foodbank so rewarding,” said Stephen Prince, vice president analytics and business operations, Walmart Retailtainment. “The ability to serve those around us always helps us to better appreciate what we do have, but more importantly, it provides greater insight into some of the challenges people face each day. I am thankful that we can do something to give back to the community ― to help those in need ― and possibly lift their burdens in some small way.”

The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, in association with Feeding America, is a food supplier that serves four Northwest Arkansas counties by providing an affordable and credible food source to partner agencies. In 2021, the organization distributed more than 14 million pounds of food and provided more than 11.3 million meals.

According to Feeding America, there are 38 million people (one in eight), including more than 12 million children (one in six), facing hunger in the United States today.
