Nothing is more pervasive on breakfast menus than the egg, but about half of menus feature French toast, breakfast sandwiches, toast and omelets, according to “The Flavor Atlas World of Breakfast Discoveries,” a new infographic published by Marlin Network, an Advantage Marketing Partners agency.

The move to off-premise dining has pushed growth in these travel-well menu items: chicken sandwiches; deviled eggs; waffle or French toast carriers; beignets, crostini and panini; and Mexican-inspired dishes, such as quesadillas, tostadas, burritos and tacos.

Among the fastest-growing breakfast menu items over the last four years are avocado toast, chicken sandwiches, churros, chicken and waffles, cheese grits and pizza.
