With the COVID pandemic transitioning to an endemic phase and the unemployment rate dropping to a pre-pandemic low, more Americans are planning summer vacation travel this year, according to a late-April survey of nearly 1,000 U.S. adults by Advantage Sales.

Just two in 10 Americans plan to stay home this summer, half as many of those who stayed home last summer. More than 60% of Americans are planning at least one leisure trip between mid-May and mid-September this year — and half of those are planning more than one.

Car is the most popular mode of transport, though nearly four in 10 plan to fly for at least one of their summer trips.
