Working at Advantage

IRVINE, Calif. ― Marcella Oglesby, executive creative director for Advantage Unified Commerce (AUC), an Advantage Solutions agency, was the recipient of the 2022 Picassa Award at Chief Marketer’s Top Women in Marketing ceremony on December 13.

The Picassa award goes to “a skilled marketer with a designer-keen eye for the visual,” according to Chief Marketer. Oglesby, who led the creative rebranding of the newly launched AUC last year, was selected for “embedding DEI principles and actions throughout her creative process and not being afraid to dismantle old ways of doing things if it prevents diverse voices from being represented in the work. Her vision for unifying five agencies into one new brand resulted in a 413% boost in web traffic in the first week, 55,000 new social followers and a significant boost in invitations for key executives to speak at major industry conferences.”

“Marcella is more than a top woman in marketing, she breaks all barriers and ceilings through her passion, selflessness, creativity and heart,” said AUC President Victor Lee. “As the co-executive creative director, she goes well beyond the pretty pictures and well-written words, she leads her teams to develop the most effective product we can deliver on behalf of our clients. She motivates everyone to find an extra gear they never knew they had and is a constant inspiration as an executive, leader and, most importantly, person.”

In addition to honoring Oglesby, Chief Marketer also named AUC’s Valerie Bernstein, executive vice president, business development and marketing, as a finalist in “The Crowd Pleaser” category, described as a leader who, “when it comes to audience development … knows how to read and work the room. A mastermind at identifying the audiences her brands seek, and the content those audiences need. Proof of her superior skills live in the acquisition, engagement and retention numbers.”
